DateGuard is a dating safety utility — "The Carfax of Dating™." It gives you information before you meet in person. DateGuard uses a live-person check, an informational records search, and a voice check that picks up hesitation, tension and consistency in how someone sounds.

DateGuard is designed specifically for personal dating safety — not for employment, tenant screening, or credit evaluation. It combines a live-person check (a real person in front of the camera, not a photo or replay), an informational records search, and an optional voice check into one experience built for dating. The live-person check does not confirm who someone is.

No. DateGuard provides additional information to help you make more informed decisions, but it is not a guarantee of safety, identity, character, intentions, or compatibility. No technology can eliminate the risks of meeting someone new. Always use your judgment and follow established safety practices.

Yes. Sign up with your email, complete the liveness check, and you receive a verified badge at no charge. No credit card required for the free tier.

Safety Check ($19.99) and Safety + Vocal Bio ($39.99) are one-time payments per check.

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. Your card statement will show "DATA SPECIALISTS."

The live-person check looks for a real, live person in front of the camera — not a photo, video, or deepfake. It does not confirm who someone is.

The Safety Check ($19.99, one-time) includes: (1) a live-person check, (2) an informational records search using the name and state you provide, and (3) a Safety Report summarizing findings.

Safety + Vocal Bio ($39.99, one-time) adds a voice check that picks up hesitation, tension and consistency in how they sound. It is informational. It does not detect lies. It provides additional data points to consider alongside your Safety Report.

The live-person check is quick. An informational records search and the voice check can take longer, depending on the data.

For the informational records search portion, you'll need to provide the person's full name and state of residence.

DateGuard collects account information (email), a verification photo used only to complete the liveness check (DateGuard does not store the photo), search inputs (name and state for criminal checks), and vocal data (for Vocal Bio tier only). See our full Privacy Policy for details.

No. Your photo is used only to complete the check. DateGuard does not store the verification photo. Only the pass/fail result and timestamp are retained.

All biometric data is protected using encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We obtain explicit written consent before collecting any biometric data. See our full Biometric Data Retention and Destruction Policy.

Yes. You can request full account and data deletion at any time through our Delete Account page or by emailing [email protected]. All biometric-related data is permanently destroyed within 30 days of a deletion request.

No. We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your personal or biometric data.

Criminal records are sourced from publicly available databases through our third-party data provider, Searchbug. Records may include felony and misdemeanor convictions, sex offender registry entries, and other publicly available criminal justice records.

Results are based on publicly available records and are provided on an "as-is" basis. Records may contain false positives due to common names (homonyms) or incomplete data. DateGuard makes no independent guarantees of factual accuracy. Always verify important findings through official channels.

No. DateGuard is designed exclusively for personal dating safety purposes. DateGuard is not a Consumer Reporting Agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You may NOT use DateGuard reports for employment, tenant screening, credit evaluation, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA.
